Lehigh Valley students participate in CHANCE Greece summer program

The Aegean Sea served as both a classroom and biology lab for a group of 20 students from all over the U.S. studying the environmental impact of microplastics this past summer. The students, including five from Penn State, traveled to Greece as part of the Connecting Humans and Nature through Conservation Experiences (CHANCE) program.

Students learn about origins, history of organized crime during Italy trip

Films like “The Godfather” and “Goodfellas” have created indelible stereotypes about those involved in organized crime. This summer, 19 Penn State students learned the real history behind the Mafia during “Organized Crime in Film and Society,“ a three-week course taught on site in different locations in Palermo and Rome, Italy.

CHANCE Program offers students research experience in Romania

Penn State Lehigh Valley’s CHANCE (Connecting Humans And Nature through Conservation Experiences) Program is offering students from any Penn State campus the opportunity for a unique, short-term study abroad program in Romania during the spring and summer months of 2022.

Penn State Behrend graduate Olivia Dubin could not attend the college's May 3 commencement ceremony because she is completing an internship in Germany. Dubin, who earned a degree in plastics engineering technology, used one of the college's robots to participate in the program remotely.
